Mrs. Deanne Mertz

Welcome to the Home of the Spartans!

My name is Deanne Mertz and I have been an English teacher for the past 17 years. While many of my years were spent in middle school, I have been with SSS for the past six years. I am currently serving my second year as Leadership Chair and participate in numerous school-wide activities.

I relocated to Wendell in 2012 from Fort Myers, Florida where I lived for 10 years. I was born and raised in Lancaster County, Pa. I grew up in the middle of Amish County and was a 1993 graduate of Conestoga Valley High School. I went on to attend West Chester University outside of Philadelphia where I graduated with a bachelor's in English. I was a news reporter for a few years until I stepped foot into the classroom- where I have found my home and continue to believe that our future leaders are sitting in my class. I am currently in my 17th year of teaching, and love calling myself a Spartan!
