Hello students and families! I hope everyone had a great summer!

 

Teacher Background:  I am a resident of Johnston county and I am very active in the community. I have been a Girl scout leader for 15 years and a Boy scout leader / merit badge counselor for 18 years. I am orginally from up state New York. I graduated from SUNY Delhi with an associates degree in Veterinary Technology. I received my Bachelors degree from SUNY Cobleskill in Animal Science. I graduated from NC state's NC TEACH program for lateral entry teachers. Most recently I earned my Master's degree in science education from WGU. I have taught at Miller -Motte college in Raleigh for their Veterinary technology program, teaching Anatomy and physiology I and II, Veterinary medical terminology, small animal husbandry and introduction to veterinary technology. At SSS I have taught Biology, Physical Science and Honors Biology. I think learning should be fun so I try to make learning fun with lots of labs and activties.

  • Updated Social Distancing Procedures

    Information on social distancing in school settings has been recently updated by the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Upon receiving information from the NCDHHS, we consulted with the Johnston County Public Health Department on the impact these updates will have on our school system. This ongoing collaboration continues to guide our decision-making as students return to classrooms for in-person instruction.

  • Curbside meal service to move to middle and high schools

    As students in grades K-5 begin returning to school, the curbside locations for free meals will now be located at each middle and high school. The curbside meal locations at our elementary schools will end on Friday, Oct. 2 and will open at the middle and high schools on Monday, Oct. 5.

  • JC Board of Education approves new back to school plan

    The Johnston County Board of Education approved a back to school plan at a special called session on Thursday, Sept. 25.
