Mr. Craig Faircloth

This will be my 13th year teaching.  Previously I worked in Harnett County, Cumberland County, and have been in Johnston County the last three years.

2006-2007 - Western Harnett Middle School, Health and PE Teacher, Asst Football Coach, Asst Baseball Coach

2007-2015 - Douglas Byrd Middle School, Health and PE Teacher, Assistant Athletic Director, Head Football Coach, Head Wrestling Coach, Head Baseball Coach

I graduated in 2005 from East Carolina University with a Master's Degree in Sports Administration.  I earned my Bachelor's Degree in 2003 in Physical Education.

As an undergraduate I worked in Recreational Services in the Intramural Department as a Sports Official in Flag Football, Basketball, and Softball.  I was an All Campus Selection in each of those sports several times.  I officiated extramural tournaments in Wilmington, Chapel Hill, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, and New Orleans.  My biggest accolade was being selected as an All American Flag Football Official in 2003 where I was one of the top 20 collegiate flag football officials in the country.  My "stripes" were retired in 2007 as I was selected for the ECU Recreational Services Wall of Fame.

As a Graduate Student, I was the Assistant Coordinator for Club Sports.

I was also active in my fraternity, Delta Chi, where I served multiple leadership positions including Intramural Chairman, Alumni Relations Officer, Associate Member Chairman, and Alumni Board of Trustees.  I was also a founding member of the Cape Fear Delta Chi Alumni Chapter.

In addition to my teaching duties, I am also the Head Wrestling Coach and the Offensive Line Coach with the Football Team. During the last school year, I took the reins as the Head Softball Coach.

This will be my 4th year at SSS and I am excited about what the 2018-2019 school year has in store.  This community and school has made great strides in the past three years and will continue to do so.
