If you are interested in pre-ordering a copy of the 2020-2021 Literary Magazine Yearbook please complete the attached Google Form by Friday, April 30th. Literary Magazine Yearbooks are $15 and payment will be collected upon arrival of the books in May.

Backpack Buddies will be available for curbside pick up on Fridays from 9:00-3:00. This new time will be used for Backpack Buddies each week on Fridays throughout the rest of the year.

Board of Education Meeting set for April 13
The April Johnston County Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 13 at 4:00 p.m. in the Evander Simpson Building in Smithfield.

JCPS to hold Virtual Job Fair April 21
Johnston County Public Schools will hold a Virtual Job Fair on Wednesday, April 21. The event will be held in a Zoom Conference format from 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. Candidates will have the opportunity to meet with various school principals about career opportunities in each of the districtโs 47 schools.

Updates to COVID-19 Symptom Screenings
New guidance given to schools in the Strong Schools NC Public Health toolkit states that daily temperature and symptom screening questions prior to entry are no longer required. We will no longer screen individuals who enter JCPS facilities for COVID-19 symptoms. This begins on Monday, April 5 for all staff and on Monday, April 12 for students upon their return from spring break.

JC Board of Education votes to return all students to Plan A
At a special called session on March 22, the Johnston County Board of Education voted to return students in grades 6-12 on Plan A. Effective April 12, any student who is currently receiving face-to-face instruction will attend every day except Wednesdays, which will continue to be used for deep cleaning and sanitizing.

2021-2022 JCPS Preschool applications now open
The online application for the Johnston County Public Schools Preschool Program is now available. Parents who are interested in the JCPS Preschool Program are encouraged to apply early, as availability is on a first come, first served basis. The application window closes on June 30th.
