Degree in Education Certificate in Reading

Ms. Amy Leach

Hello parents and 6th grade students!  I am looking forward to another great year here at Smithfield Middle School!

Welcome to my class website.  I am a graduate of ECU with a Bachelor's degree in Science and Education with a certification in Reading.  This is my 6th year at Smithfield Middle and I truly enjoy teaching language arts.  I moved here from Ohio in 1996 and love Buckeye football!  I have two children, ages 18 and 21.  I enjoy the beach and reading as much as I can.  I am looking forward to a new year and meeting and getting to know all my students!

Practice is Monday - Thursday until 5:00 pm.  Please have a ride here no later than 5:10 pm.  There will be a parent meeting August 29th at 5:45 pm.  Parents will meet in the gym to go over some important information.  I will hand out a game schedule at that time, it is also on the school website.  Our first game is next week here at Smithfield Middle School against Selma Middle School.  The girls will practice until 5:20 or so on August 26th and can wait here for parents to come to the meeting afterwards.  I am looking forward to the season and seeing these girls play!
