Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Killen

Hello! I live in South Smithfield with my three children, toy poodle "Gigi" and calico cat "Ruby".  I graduated from UNC-Wilmington with a BS in Geology and a Minor in Art.  After woking as a Geologist for an environmental consulting firm in Raleigh, I left the workforce to raise a family.  Wanting to work with children, I returned to college and earned my teaching license from ECU. I am blessed to have found my place at South Smithfield Elementary School working with Exceptional Children.  Although this my fifth year working with students with special needs, I have been working with school age children for over 13 years.   I am highly qualified in Elementary Education K-5, Middle School Science, Art K-12, as well as Exceptional Children.  I love working with special needs children, spending time with my family, traveling, hiking and finding waterfalls
