Ms. Cali Durning

Hello and thanks for visiting my page! My name is Cali Durning and this is my fifth year of teaching at SSE. I am orginally from Maryland, but relocated to Pittsburgh, PA. There, I received my degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from Robert Morris University. In July of 2016, I moved to NC to begin my teaching career. I am a HUGE Ice Hockey fan! I love watching the Pittsburgh Penguins and try to go to as many NHL games as possible each season. It is really awesome having another NHL team- the Carolina Hurricanes, down here in Raleigh. We have recently become Canes Season Ticket Members, so I am so excited to be watching even more live Hockey, hopefully this year! I have always wanted to be a teacher... it is my passion! When I am not at school, I am usually watching movies and spending time with family, friends, and my sweet pup; Lila. FUN FACT- I just got engaged at the beginning of the school year, but we will not be planning a wedding anytime soon, due to COVID! I am continuing to serve as the Exceptional Children's teacher for first through third grade again this year. Although this is a different start to the year, I am really looking forward to working with both our students and families of SSE!

hello sunshine
