Mrs. Cali Durning-Smith
Hi there!! Welcome back to another school year at SSE!
My name is Cali Durning-Smith. If you happened to know me in years past, you will see that I have added a new last name. That is because I recently got married this summer! Here are a few things about me.... This is my 6th year of teaching at SSE. I am originally from Maryland, but relocated to Pittsburgh, PA. There, I received my degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from Robert Morris University. In July of 2016, I moved to NC to begin my teaching career. I am a HUGE Ice Hockey fan! I love watching the Pittsburgh Penguins and try to go to as many NHL games as possible each season. It is really awesome having another NHL team- the Carolina Hurricanes, down here in Raleigh. My husband and I are Canes Season Ticket Members, so I am so excited to be watching lots of live Hockey this year. I have always wanted to be a teacher... it is my passion! When I am not at school, I am usually watching movies and spending time with family, friends, and my sweet pup; Lila. I am continuing to serve as one of our Exceptional Children's teachers for Kindergarten, Second, Third, and Fifth grade this year.
Here we come, 2021-2022 School Year!
