Mrs. Amanda Lee
Hi, My name is Amanda Lee. I am excited to be your childล 5th grade teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. This will be my 2nd year teaching at South Smithfield Elementary, but my 14th year teaching in JCS. My husband, and I have a six year old little girl named Savannah who will be in 1st grade at SSE this year and almost 4 year old son named Matthew. We also have a Cockapoo name Toby who is 14 years old. I have lived in Johnston County all of my life and attended JCS schools as a student. I look forward to building relationships and watching your child grow academically, physically, and socially this year.
I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 2003 from East Carolina University.

JCPS Summer Hours
Johnston County Public Schools will be moving to summer office hours on June 13. School and district offices will operate on a four-day work week.ย Offices will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays and 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursdays. The summer schedule will continue until August 11. All offices will be closed on July 4.ย

2022 Summer Information Fair Dates Set
Johnston County Public Schools is always striving to provide students and families with exemplary service. In most cases, school bus transportation is essential for many students to access a quality education. In order to meet our daily goal, it is necessary to implement change that enhances and improves our overall operation. As we prepare for the 2022-2023 school year, JCPS Transportation Services and School Nutrition will be hosting a Summer Information Fair at each high school.

Our district is launching a new portion of our website to further communicate bus delays and replacements with our families. We encourage those who have a student who utilizes our transportation to get to or from school to visit www.johnston.k12.nc.us/busdelays for updates on our school bus routes beginning Tuesday, January 18.

JC Board of Education approves 2022 JCPS salary schedule
The Johnston County Board of Education voted unanimously to approve the 2022 Johnston County Public Schools salary schedule at their regularly scheduled Dec. 14 meeting.
