I grew up in Northeastern North Carolina. (Freshly dug peanut field is my favorite smell!) I am married and we have two sons, both in college and Army National Guard. We also have a furbaby, a friendly yellow lab. I love meeting new people, traveling, linguistics and languages.
At West, I teach English language development, coach swimming, and advise Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).

Johnston County Public Schools will hold a Virtual Job Fair on Wednesday, April 21. The event will be held in a Zoom Conference format from 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. Candidates will have the opportunity to meet with various school principals about career opportunities in each of the district’s 47 schools.
New guidance given to schools in the Strong Schools NC Public Health toolkit states that daily temperature and symptom screening questions prior to entry are no longer required. We will no longer screen individuals who enter JCPS facilities for COVID-19 symptoms. This begins on Monday, April 5 for all staff and on Monday, April 12 for students upon their return from spring break.
The online application for the Johnston County Public Schools Preschool Program is now available. Parents who are interested in the JCPS Preschool Program are encouraged to apply early, as availability is on a first come, first served basis. The application window closes on June 30th.
