Mrs. Cheri Crabtree

Cheri Crabtree is a certified dance educator through Dance Masters of America and an active member of Carolina Dance Masters since 2004.  She is also an active member of the National Dance Education Organization where she continues to develop in her field annually.  She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dance with 16 years of professional experience including dance studio business ownership, dance and theatre performance, teaching ages 2-adult, master class workshops, competition adjudication, choreography, team coaching, and direction in dance programs, musical theatre productions and benefit programs in multiple counties.

As an educator, Mrs. Crabtree strives to develop dance students intellectually and artistically as expressive self motivators to appreciate, advocate for, and succeed in dance and fine arts whether as a career choice or recreational benefit.  Cheri has lead dancers to national winning ranks, guided dancers to successful careers, and strives to instill a sense of accountability, responsibility, discipline, passion, and artistic ability through the art of dance in all of her students.  She has currently sold her dance studio business and is focusing on dance as education in the public school system, while continuing her private services to students of all ages in the private sector, as well as, adjudication judging in the competition circuit.

Cheri has recently been offered teaching positions at arts schools, director positions in dance studios, and private business ownership opportunities. With her love for the Johnston County community, and fine arts department at WJHS, along with the importance of stability and education for her own child, she is proud, thankful and excited to continue her services to Johnston County and West Johnston High School.

"I love the experience of watching students grow a passion and appreciation of an art form, develop body awareness and succeed in skills or tasks they have never engaged in. The innovative process for myself as the teacher alters from class to class, and from student to student, and I love every second of it!  I am honored and proud to continue teaching and growing at West Johnston and I can't wait to meet all future students!"
