Time is certainly moving by at an amazing pace.  It seems like yesterday that this school year began.  Now it's almost February.  We have a lot of upcoming dates to be aware of.

Upcoming Dates of Interest:

Tutoring will begin the middle of February.  It will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Invitations will be sent home hopefully by the end of January.

Quarter 3 Progress Reports will be going home on February 3.

Quarter 3 Report Cards will be going home on March 14.

Battle of the Books will be held virtually on March 18.

The next CASE assessments will be between March 28 and April 8.

Spring Break will be Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 15.

Monday, April 18, is a teacher workday.

Final MAP testing will take place between April 19 and May 6.

Quarter 4 Progress Reports will go home on April 22, 2022.

  • Homework for the Week:

     

     Students will have homework Monday through Thursday nights.  Students are responsible for entering their homework into their daily planner.  Please review these planners nightly and sign as this lets us know that you are aware of assignments, deadlines, upcoming events and use the planner to communicate with the teacher.  Thanks so much for your continued assistance and support.

    North Carolina schools are required to administer ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 to all students identified as English Learners (ELs) in the spring of each year to determine their progress in learning English. Each student is tested in four areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This assessment helps us monitor their English language development.

    Parents, If you have not received your login for the Parent Portal, PLEASE update your child's records with a current email address. You will need to send a note with your child to have your email address updated. Please include your name, your child's name, and your current email address on the note. Mrs. Williams will then be able to update your records and activate your PowerSchool Parent Portal login.

  • JCPS to Utilize New Website for Bus Updates

    Our district is launching a new portion of our website to further communicate bus delays and replacements with our families. We encourage those who have a student who utilizes our transportation to get to or from school to visit www.johnston.k12.nc.us/busdelays for updates on our school bus routes beginning Tuesday, January 18.

  • Updated COVID-19 Quarantine Guidance

    Our district is continuing to follow the guidance and recommendations from the Johnston County Public Health Department, the CDC, and the Strong Schools NC Toolkit, and we will now adhere to a 5 day quarantine period for students or staff members who tests positive for COVID-19. This is a change from the previous 10 day quarantine time.

  • JCPS offering Test to Stay Program

    Johnston County Public Schools is participating in the Test to Stay Program, a voluntary study with Duke University and the ABC Collaborative. Due to that participation our students now have more options if they are deemed a close contact to a positive COVID-19 case while at school.

  • JC Board of Education approves 2022 JCPS salary schedule

    The Johnston County Board of Education voted unanimously to approve the 2022 Johnston County Public Schools salary schedule at their regularly scheduled Dec. 14 meeting.
