Mrs. Holly Wagner

Ancient History:

I graduated from Michigan State University in 2002.  I finished completed my internship at Alcott Elementary School in Pontiac, Michigan before accepting a job teaching 6th grade Science at East Garner Magnet Middle School.  I later taught 6th grade Science at Clayton Middle School.  After CMS, I took a break for a few years to raise my 2 children before returning to teaching. When I returned, I spent 3 years at Smithfield Middle School in 6th grade Science again, before transferring to West Smithfield Elementary to be at the same school as my own children for a few years while I taught 5th grade ELA. Finally, I have landed at Archer Lodge Middle School and LOVE teaching Math here.  This is my 5th year here.  Until now, I taught 7th grade Math, but this year have switched back to 6th grade.  School is sooo different than when I was being taught!  (Virtual School, Chromebooks, smartboards, and erasable pens that actually erase!)  In total, I have completed 14 years teaching.  If you count up ALL the years I've been in school, I rack up 32 years spent in a school building!

Present Day:

After the crazy COVID-19 year, it's time to get back to a schedule!  {Although, I'm not sure that I'm going to love the 4:15 alarm that goes off so I can workout before school!}

I am super excited about what's in store for us this year!  Although I'm going to be teaching different content than last year and a whole new curriculum, I look forward to all the new things I'll learn as well as watching your children grow and while I push them to learn the things they've missed through out the years as well teaching them new topics.

Future:

We're going to have a great year of intentional learning that will prepare our students for their 7th grade future & beyond!  I am excited about all the adventures year 15 will bring!
