Ahhhh!  Finally a break!  After 30 years of being in a school building it's summer break!!  Hope you have a great time!

I plan to relax, spend quality time with my two kiddos & read!  {I've checked out 7-10 of the Wings of Fire Series, all of the Harry Potter series & 2-4 of Ms. Peregrine's Home for Pecular Children.  I wonder how far I'll get...that's a LOT of reading!!}

Ancient History:

I graduated from Michigan State University in 2002.  I finished completed my internship at Alcott Elementary School in Pontiac, Michigan before accepting a job teaching 6th grade Science at East Garner Magnet Middle School.  I later taught 6th grade Science at Clayton Middle School.  After CMS, I took a break for a few years to raise my 2 children before returning to teaching. When I returned, I spent 3 years at Smithfield Middle School in 6th grade Science again, before transferring to West Smithfield Elementary to be at the same school as my own children for a few years while I taught 5th grade ELA. In total, I have completed 12 years teaching.  If you count up ALL the years I've been in school, I rack up 30 years spent in a school building!

Present Day:

Now, I am at Archer Lodge Middle School teaching 7th grade Math.  The 2019-2020 school year will be my third year here. I am super excited about what's in store for us this year!  Although I'm going to be teaching the same content as last year, I plan to revise the content I present to make it even more user friendly.  Last year's plan to add lots of practice problems and personal checkins with me so that we can make sure EACH STUDENT truly understand the content we're learning was a huge success and the students and I saw tons of growth throughout the year.  I'm also excited to add in some friendly competition to encourage everyone to do their best and help their teammates.

Future:

We're going to have a great year of intentional learning that will prepare our students for their future & Beyond!  I am excited about all the adventures year 13 will bring!
