Degrees and Certifications:
I am Marie Simmons and I have been a preschool Speech/Language Pathologist for over 25 years. I specialize in preschool speech/language development, oral motor planning disorders, and developmental delays.
I am happy to say that I am starting my 14th year in Johnston County Schools. I enjoy working with the staff and the students throughout the county.
I am originally from New Jersey, but I've been here for 33 years y'all. I got my B.S. degree in Speech Pathology from ECU in 1985 and my M.S. degree in Speech Pathology from UNC-CH in 1986.
I have been married to my best friend, Mark for over 33 years. We have three children, John a Grad from Appalachian State, and twins Catie and Emily who are grads from NCSU and ECU. People always ask what I like to do in my spare time and my answer is "What is spare time?"
At this time, all traditional high school graduations are still planned for May 29. Graduation ceremonies for Johnston County Early College Academy and Johnston County Career and Technical Leadership Academy will now take place on May 16th, rather than the original date of May 15th.
The Johnston County Board of Education will hold a budget work session on Tuesday, April 27. The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. and be held in the Evander Simpson Building in Smithfield.
There are no upcoming events to display.
