Hi! I am Mrs. Hoyt and I teach 3rd Grade Math and Language Arts. This is my third year in 3rd grade but my 9th year teaching at West Clayton. I received my BA in Elementary Education, American Studies, and Special Education in New Jersey from the College of Saint Elizabeth in 2009. I am certified in Gifted Education as well. This will be my 9th year teaching. I am married to my husband and have been for almost 9 years. We have one daughter, Amelia Grace, who just turned 5. I am orginally from Hamburg, New Jersey (the northern part of Jersey) and moved down to North Carolina in November of 2011. I visit my family in New Jersey often - my in-laws, my sister, and my grandparents are still up there. My parents live in Myrtel Beach so I see them pretty often.  A few of my favorite things are Pigs, whales, Starbucks, Dr. Pepper, Superhereos, Harry Potter, I love to cook/bake, and spend time with my family. My husband is a big runner, he runs ultra-marathons, Amelia and I love to go watch him run. Teaching is something I have always wanted to do since I was little, it is something that I am truly passionate about and I love what each and every student brings to my classroom each and everyday

  • Updated Social Distancing Procedures

Information on social distancing in school settings has been recently updated by the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Upon receiving information from the NCDHHS, we consulted with the Johnston County Public Health Department on the impact these updates will have on our school system. This ongoing collaboration continues to guide our decision-making as students return to classrooms for in-person instruction.
