Mrs. Kris Velez

Welcome, 3rd graders, to The Greatest School!  This will be my 14th year teaching and third here at WCES.  This year is shaping up to be the best one yet!  I will be teaching PBL science and social studies to all third grade students over the course of the year.  I am excited that the school and third grade teachers have chosen to support me in this innovative approach to learning.

Outside of school, I am a mother of two girls who both go to school here- Emily is in 4th grade and Katelyn is in 1st.  I have a husband, Mike.  I have a pet dog, two cats, two hermit crabs, and a turtle- George- who hangs out here in our classroom.  I love to read, and paint.  I also run, hike, and cycle.  I'm newly into yoga!  I LOVE coffee, peaches, and cherries.

Teaching is my passion.  I love what I do and my goal this year is to give my students the tools to be motivated self-learners.  Thank you for your support in this.

With much love,

Mrs. Velez
