Welcome to Drafting class! I will be teaching from the blueprint (standards and objectives) from Career and Technical Education from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. The Drafting I curriculum covers sktching (and board basics), lettering, dimensioning, isometrics, obliques, multiviews, and AutoCAD. Architectural II includes floor plans, foundation plans, roof plans, elevations, AutoCAD, and Revit.
My experience includes five years of teaching technical drafting to high school students and almost twenty years in instructional technology at the elementary level. I have a B.S. degree in Industrial Technology Education with a concentration in Technical Drafting and Design. My M.A.Ed. in Instructional Technology was completed December of 2013. Both degrees and my graduate certificate in Distance Learning and Administration are from East Carolina University. Go Pirates! Arrrgh!
On a more personal note, I have three children. My oldest son graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and is a captain in the United States Army. My daughter graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is attending Duke Divinity School. I also have a son in fourth grade. My husband is retired from the Raleigh Police Department and working toward a new career in Information Technology. Family time is my favorite hobby!
