Degrees and Certifications:
Graduate Certificate in Distance Learning and Administration Master of Arts in Education in Instructional Technology Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology Education with a Concentration in Technical Drafting and Design
Welcome to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Class! In addition to support for the science and math curricula as directed by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, students will be exposed to careers related to each area. Computer Science and coding (computer programming) will be emphasized. Engineering principles will be discovered while applying math and science content. Digital citizenship and onlone safety will also be emphasized. These experiences offer an opportunity to instill a growth mindset within each student.
My experience includes five years of teaching technical drafting to high school students and almost twenty years in instructional technology at the elementary level. I have a B.S. degree in Industrial Technology Education with a concentration in Technical Drafting and Design. My M.A.Ed. in Instructional Technology was completed December of 2013. Both degrees and my graduate certificate in Distance Learning and Administration are from East Carolina University. Go Pirates! Arrrgh!
On a more personal note, I have three children. My oldest son graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and is a captain in the United States Army. My daughter graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and will be attending Duke Divinity School in the fall. I also have a son in third grade. My husband is retired from the Raleigh Police Department and working toward a new career in Information Technology. Family time is my favorite hobby!
Please support the STEM program and the all of the students at West Clayton Elementary.
