WCES Bucket Drummers perform for the Friday House Rally: We had 7 students perform for the House Rally their own composition of "Fire Drums." We had thunderous applause after the performance! Thanks for the great support!
Kindergarten attended "Ugly Duckling" at the Clayton Center: We had a wonderful time visiting the theatre for the first time and seeing a wonderful play. There was great acting, singing, playing instruments along with the story of the Ugly Duckling! We especially want to thank the school, Johnston County Arts Council, and the town of Clayton for allowing us to attend.
4th grade visited the NC Symphony: The fourth graders visited the NC Symphony in Raleigh in February. We saw all the instrument families: woodwinds, strings, percussion and brass. It was wonderful to see and hear professional musicians share their talents with us.
WCES Singers performed at the 2022 Clayton Tree Lighting: We had a great time performing some holiday music for the tree lighting ceremony. We appreciate all the support from our audience. We hope you enjoyed the selections as much as we did! Especially thank you to our WCES Staff who helped support our efforts by performing with us.
4th and 5th graders: Please be sure you have secured a recorder for equipment we will be playing in 2022-23. I really want everyone to receive full credit for their recorder performances this year. If you need a school issued recorder, please have parents sign the form below and bring it to music class so a school-provided recorder can be issued to you for the 2022-23 school year.

I'm very excited to see you in the music classroom each week. I have some exciting things planned for us to do this year; songs to sing, instruments to play, places to visit, etc. Bring your enthusiasm and we will be moving upward and onward!
