     Music Class Schedule:

I am excited to have your back in the music classroom for January-May 2022!  We will be studying some special units for each grade level along with other music topics such as dynamics and tempo.  Please bring a "willing spirit" and some "enthusiasm" and we can have a great time learning more about music this year!

4th and 5th graders:  Please be sure you have secured a recorder for material we will be playing between January-May 2022.  I really want everyone to receive full credit for their recorder performances this year.  If you still need a recorder, please have parents sign the form below and bring to class so a school provided recorder can be issued to you for the year.

  • ACCESS Testing for English Language Learners

North Carolina schools are required to administer ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 to all students identified as English Learners (ELs) in the spring of each year to determine their progress in learning English. Each student is tested in four areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This assessment helps us monitor their English language development.

JCPS Announcements

  • Updated COVID-19 Quarantine Guidance

There have been significant changes to the Strong Schools NC toolkit that affects the quarantine procedures our staff and students must follow if they are exposed to a positive case of COVID-19. Any student or staff member who is currently quarantined due to an exposure of a positive COVID-19 case may return to school or work tomorrow, unless the close contact is a housemate. We are able to make this adjustment because our district requires masks for all students, staff, and guests.

  • Updated COVID-19 Quarantine Guidance

Our district is continuing to follow the guidance and recommendations from the Johnston County Public Health Department, the CDC, and the Strong Schools NC Toolkit, and we will now adhere to a 5 day quarantine period for students or staff members who tests positive for COVID-19. This is a change from the previous 10 day quarantine time.
