Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Alison Kerigan

Hi! My name is Alison Kerigan. I'll be starting my 2nd year as the Physical Education teacher at Powhatan Elementary.

Previously I'd been teaching Kindergarten for 15 years (in Florida and at West Clayton Elementary), but welcomed a teaching change, using my fitness degree & athletic/coaching background.  I attended Florida State University where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Fitness & Nutrition. I played basketball there for four years on scholarship (GO NOLES!). While I don't play anymore, I am still an avid sports fan. I cheer for FSU, the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.  I grew up in Joliet, Illinois.

I have a husband, Tim, and two kids, Cullen and Riley.  And my hound dog, Roxy.
