Hello Four Oaks Middle Students, Parents, and stakeholders!

My name is Anthony Whitaker and I am excited for the opportunity to be the new Principal at Four Oaks Middle. Let me share some of my background you might like to know! 


  • BS in Elementary Education from North Carolina Central University
  • Masters of Arts in Education/Administration and Supervision from University of Phoenix 
  • Currently working on my Doctorate of Education in Education Leadership


I have been an Assistant Band Director for Southeast Raleigh High School for 15 years and Assistant Basketball coach for 6 years. I taught all 5th grade subjects at Cooper Elementary for 6 years before moving into the Assistant Principal role at Cleveland High School. I have served as Assistant Principal for 7 years in Johnston County Public schools (Cleveland High School, Selma Elementary, & West Clayton Elementary). 

I am thrilled to continue to make a positive impact in education by building relationships with students, parents, and the community.  I work to create learning opportunities within the school and creating a safe environment to learn. I will continue to strengthen the Social/ Emotional skills of students with the collaboration of the Four Oaks Middle school staff. I truly believe that “it takes a village to raise a child”

This is my sixth year at Four Oaks Middle School and twenty-first year in education. I am excited to continue to be part of the great community of Four Oaks!  I was born and raised in Johnston County, attended East Carolina University for both my undergraduate degree and graduate degree. 

I look forward to building relationships with students, staff, and families.  Engaging lessons, collaboration, and communication are essential in assisting students in their academic and personal growth. Thank you for allowing me to serve you and this great community of Four Oaks.
