Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Paula Hales
Hello- my name is Paula Hales and I am the band director at ALMS. This will be my 18th year of teaching, but it will be my second year here at ALMS. I earned my music education degree from ECU in 1997, my master's in music ed in 2006 from ECU and I achieved National Board Certification in 2007.
I grew up in Nash County and attended Northern Nash High School. After ECU, I lived, for a while, in Jacksonville, NC (97-99), Chesapeake, VA(99-01), Moyock, NC(01-08) and Clayton, NC (08- present).
I am married to Allen Hales and we have 4 children: Alex (18- at App State), Matthew (16), Maddie (15) and Darryn (11).
I am looking forward to working with you this school year and I hope your child will grow to love music as much as I do. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
