Mrs. Emily Shelton

Hi!  My name is Mrs. Shelton.  This is my eighth year teaching, and my first year teaching seventh grade social studies. Before Selma Middle I was a teacher's assistant. I have two degrees from Barton College in Mass Communications and Political Science. I completed coursework at Harvard University and I earned my graduate certificate in Middle and Secondary teaching with a concentration in Career and Technical Education from Appalachian State University.  I love teaching at Selma Middle School and enjoy coming to work every day.  My goal is to equip each of my students with the tools they need to pursue college and a career after high school.  Whether students want to be a mechanic or an astronaut, I will encourage them and show them the path they need to follow to reach their goals.

I have been married for 12 years and have two beautiful sons ages 7 and 3!  We live here in Selma and love life in Johnston County.  I enjoy reading, gardening and spending time with my family!
