Dawn Bonner
Welcome back students! I am looking forward to a great year--however weird it might be! The 2020-2021 school year will be my third year on the Riverwood 8th grade team, my 12th year teaching and my 8th year in Johnston County! I am originally from Virginia, but moved to NC to attend NCSU. I received a bachelor's degree from NCSU, and then pursued a master's degree from UNC-CH. (I pledge my allegance to NCSU!) I have been married to my wonderful husband, Peter, for over 29 years. We have two sons, both in the Army and both married to wonderful young ladies. I teach 8th grade ELA and ENG 1 and I absolutely love it! I am a new Grandma as of October 2019!

What is happening in Mrs. Bonner's 8th Classes?
The Johnston County English Department has adopted curriculum called My Perspectives. Using that curriculum, we will study and practice many literary skills, academic and concept vocabulary, writing, and grammar. I am excited about working with each of you and look forward to meeting you all in person someday!
The first week of classes will be geared toward us getting to know each other and then being sure you know how to access my class meetings and our textbook. If you have any questions, please email me and I will gladly help however I can.
