Welcome to DIxon Road Elementary, home of the Dragonflies!  My name is Amy Creed and I am honored and excited to begin my first year as the principal of this great school.  Before being named principal, I served as the school’s assistant principal for five years under the leadership of Mr. Kenneth Bennett. I am passionate about children and learning and consider it a privilege to be able to lead such a wonderful group of students and teachers. My door is always open and I welcome your input. 

• Mr. Bates has been an educator for twenty-one years. This is his first year at Dixon Road Elementary and his eleventh year with Johnston County Public Schools. A native of Harkers Island, NC. He and his wife, Wendy, are the parents of three children: Sullivan, Caison, and Shawn Jr. They are also the grandparents of Payton Gray Tant, Jr.
  Mr. Bates enjoys spending time with his family, serving in church, helping those he meets, and boating with his family.
