Mr. Kenneth Bennett, Principal

As principal at Dixon Road Elementary School, I provide leadership and guidance to a staff of 75 personnel and 600 students. My duties include providing a safe, orderly, and caring environment where students and staff can learn and become lifelong learners. I lead by example and walk my talk. It is my desire to help all students and educators become their personal best. This year’s theme is “Learning under Construction,” which will focus on moving from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. Individualized learning for each student is our daily focus to direct instructional practices and to positively impact the lives of our students. It is crucial that we have appropriate relationships and let students know how much we care about their success.

Mrs. Amy Creed, Assistant Principal

I am a native of Benson, NC and attended Benson area schools through high school.  I obtained my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Elementary Education from UNC Wilmington. I taught 4th and 5th grades for 15 years and then attended Campbell University, where I obtained my School Administration license. I have been with Johnston County Public Schools for 24 years.  During the last 2 years I have had the honor and pleasure of being the assistant principal at Dixon Road Elementary.  I can honestly say that I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!

My husband, Clint, and I have 2 children, Savannah and Seth.  Savannah is a Junior at UNC (Go Heels!), and Seth is a Junior at South Johnston High School.  We have a black lab named Rags and an orange tabby cat named Pumpkin.
