Hello parents and students! I'm so excited to be working with you this year! I would like to introduce myself and tell you a few things about me.
I have a beautiful little girl named Makenna. She is ten years old and she keeps me on my toes! I also have an adorable puppy named Annie. She is a morkie the best snuggler ever! I love reading, watching movies, Sunday crossword puzzles, thrift store shopping, sushi and chocolate.
I started teaching at Riverwood Middle in 2004. I've been here ever since and I love this school! The staff, administration, student body and community is second to none. For the first eight years, I taught 6th grade ELA and I've been teaching 21st Century Skills every year since then. I have an Associates in Arts and a Bachelor's in Science. I graduated from NCSU and my degree is in Middle Grades ELA and Social Studies for grades 5 through 9. I am highly qualified in both subject areas and I am AIG certified. Outside of the classroom, I am the assistant Battle of the Books coach.
I love involved parents so please stay in touch as much as you can! Education is a team effort. Parents, please make sure you and your child have joined their Google Classroom class. These are my codesl
