Welcome to 8th Grade Social Studies! I'm looking forward to a fantastic school year!
This school year will be my eleventh teaching social studies at Riverwood Middle. Originally from Ohio, I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Adolescent to Young Adult Education in 2008 from Mount Union College (Alliance, Ohio) and my Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2013 from American College of Education (Indianapolis, Indiana). I love history and am excited to share my knowledge of and passion for the subject with my students!

The Johnston County Board of Education will hold a special session on Tuesday, Aug. 27. The closed session meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. and be held in the Evander Simpson Building in Smithfield.

The Johnston County Education Foundation has changed its grant process from a three cycle a year process, to a once a year process. The grant deadline will now be November 15th each year and Grant Patrol will be held on the first Wednesday of December.
