Becky Fergus

Hi! My name is Becky Fergus and the 2020/2021 school year will be my 5th at Riverwood Middle. Originally from Virginia Beach, VA, I moved to NC when I was in the 11th grade. I've always lived 'at the beach' until I decided to go to college at UNC-Asheville in the mountains. There, I met my husband and this year we celebrated our 20th anniversary.

We have two daughters that both attend Johnston County Career Technical & Leadership Academy (CTLA). Wren is an 11th grader there, and Mara is a 9th grader. They both love animals and (right now) we (only) have 2-dogs-Jersey & Jax, and  3-cats-Luna, Hazel, & Kitten (not my idea).

When I am not in school, I enjoy playing sports and attending sporting events like baseball and hockey. I am an outdoors person, so I will always be that one teacher that heads outside on the nice days, or eats outside (if we ever have the chance!).

I am hoping that eventually we will all be able to meet in person as I know this year contains an excellent group of students. When they were in 6th grade, I taught 6th grade Science, so I have a lot of them for Science for the 2nd time!

If you or your student ever has any questions or concerns, I welcome them, or you to email me anytime, or give me a call. I will always be sure to return your email/call within 24-hrs.

Here's to a great 8th grade year!!
