• Rising 6th & 7th Grade students, please consider joining our band program! Students need no prior experience or knowledge and will be taught to play an instrument as well as how to read music and be members of a performing ensemble.     Mr. Hingley holds both a bachelor of music in music education degree (cum laude, East Carolina University) and a master of music in tuba performance degree (Arizona State University).  Mr. Hingley is honored to have been a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, and has enjoyed being part of the Riverwood community since becoming the band director at Riverwood Middle in 2014. Originally from Havelock, NC, Mr. Hingley resides in Clayton with his wife, Allison, and his children Susan, Samantha, Sarah, Anthony Jr., Simon, and Stella.

  • Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! We have a great year of learning and music ahead of us, and it is not possible without motivated students and supportive parents. I look forward to working with each of the students this year and helping them learn and progress in their instrumental playing as well as their love and understanding of music.
