Degrees and Certifications:
Masters in Elementary Education (Math specialist) from NC State National Board Certified in Early Adolescence Math. Bachelors Degree in Biology from Christopher Newport University.
Mrs. Amber Edwards
I am very excited about the upcoming school year and getting to know all of my students. I plan to make math enjoyable, engaging and challenging. I expect my students to come each day ready to work hard and to collaborate with their peers respectfully.
This is my 6th year at Riverwood and my 14th year teaching. I have experience teaching 7th & 8th grade math and science. I attended Christopher Newport University, where I majored in Biology, and was a member of the schools volleyball team. I earned my teaching certificate through East Carolina University's lateral entry program. Since then I earned my National Board Certificate in Early Adolescence Math and my Masters as a math specialist in elementary education from NC State University.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Todd(husband), Russell(son), Bimini(Dog), and I enjoy spending time together outdoors. This summer we spent most of our time in Hatteras; spending time with family at the beach, swimming at the pool or playing on the boat in the sound.
