Riverwood Middle Physical Education Remote learning Syllabus 2020

As we all know, this year is starting a little differently than usual. All Physical Education and Health classes will be online and will be holding live sessions according to your block.

    Virtual Expectations:

-Each student is expected to attend their live video session on Google Meets with their gym class. All four gym teachers and their classes will be in the live session together.

-If for some reason you cannot attend the live session, there will be a recorded lesson in Google Classroom for students to watch.

-Please mute yourself during the meeting

-Respect will be shown to others during lessons and activities, please follow directions the first time they are given.

-Assignments will be posted in your class block’s Google Classroom. Your code for these Google Classrooms are posted on your teachers website. Your live session code will be posted in each individual Google Classroom.

    Class Expectations:

-Students will be learning physical activities and health material.

-Students will need to dress appropriately when attending live class sessions since physical activity is involved.

Examples: athletic shorts (fingertip length) or athletic pants, no low cut shirts (v-neck or scoop neck), clothing items easy to move in.

    Air Time:

Students are assigned an Air Time to ask their teachers for help with assignments, tutorials, or catch up on items they may have missed.

-Each grade will meet with their own individual P.E. teacher, not as one big P.E. group.

*Grading information will be forthcoming and will be distributed once finalized by the end of August.

  • Updated Social Distancing Procedures

Information on social distancing in school settings has been recently updated by the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Upon receiving information from the NCDHHS, we consulted with the Johnston County Public Health Department on the impact these updates will have on our school system. This ongoing collaboration continues to guide our decision-making as students return to classrooms for in-person instruction.
