This will be my eighth year teaching in Riverwood Elementary. I've had the privilege of working with amazing children each and every year, all of whom have left an indelible impression on my life. I'm looking forward to the upcoming year!
I was born in Singapore and completed my LLB in Nottingham, UK where I lived for 4 years. I then practiced law in Singapore before moving to the US thirteen years ago, when my husband's job brought him to this part of the world. I began my foray into teaching as a substitute teacher, then as a teaching assistant. Being in the classroom made me realize that teaching special education in particular was my passion; and that what I really wanted to do was to make a difference in the lives of the children who need the most help and support. I completed my Masters of Arts in Teaching in December 2014 at WCU.
I’ve been happily married to my best friend for more than 20 years and have 2 wonderful children, now 18 & 16. This is my first year with neither of them in JCPS as my daughter just started as a freshman in UNC Chapel Hill. My extended family consists of 2 1/2 dogs, 2 cats, and a bearded dragon.
