Mrs. Jennifer Batten
I am so excited to have your child in my class this year! I am a fourth grade math and science teacher here at Riverwood Elementary. I am an ECU Pirate and I have worked in education in Johnston County Schools for over 12 years.
As a teacher, I believe that learning begins with trust. I will focus on building a strong relationship with each student in order to create a safe and welcoming classroom community based on mutual respect. I believe that learning should be engaging and fun, and I hope to inspire my students to become lifelong learners.
I am married to my wonderful husband Josh, and have two sons, Aaron and Casen. Outside of school I enjoy spending time exercising, baking, watching football, and spending time with my family. We love to travel and spend as much time as possible at the beach!
