Hi!  I am Brooke Casper (like Casper the Friendly Ghost, that's how I tell people to spell my name).   I am from Gates County, in the northeastern part of North Carolina.  I have one younger sister.  I went to college at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (Go Seahawks!) where I was a Teaching Fellow!!  We have lived in Clayton for ten years.  I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful girls, one is twelve years old, a middle schooler, and my youngest is eight years old and in third grade.  I love to read on my Nook and spend time with my family at the beach or camping in the mountains.  I am a Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets, and NC State fan.  I have been teaching for sixteen years.  I have taught third, fourth, and fifth grades in both Johnston and Nash counties.  This is my eleventh year teaching fifth grade here in Johnston County.   I think fifth grade is the best!

One summer I heard a college president speak and she said that she asks the students when they enter, "What are you going to contribute to this university?"  How can you make it a better place by being here?". When they graduate, she asks them, "Now, what are you going to contribute to your country and the world?"  My challenge this year for my students is to make them think about this: "What can I contribute to my class and my school?  How can I make it a better place by being here?"
