Mrs. Maryam Duran

I am Maryam Duran and so grateful to be part of Gator Family.  I am excited to be your (your student's) teacher. I know this is going to be a great year for all of us to grow and learn together.
I graduated from Barton College and in continuing with my passion for Special Education I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Special Education. I value myself as a life long learner and love to take any opportunity to advance my knowledge in ways that will help me be the best teacher for our students.

I was born in Texas and from there have been all over. Being the child of a military family I had the opportunity to live on four continents and six states (that was a lot of different schools).  My family moved to North Carolina in 2013. My husband and I have two children; Mara (13 years, 8th grade) and and JD (11 years, 6th grade) both will be attending Archer Lodge  this year.

When I am not teaching or planning awesome stuff for us to do at school, I enjoy  spending time with my family, reading, and gardening.
  • Have a great Summer!!! See you in the Fall 2019

  • Missing or Damaged Library Books

Every summer many students go off on vacation before turning in all of their library books. We encourage students and their families to bring in missing library books over the summer as soon as the items are found to prevent possible loss or damage and to allow the media center to complete the end-of-the-year inventory. Click here to view your library account status to see if you have any overdue/missing items.
