Hello, my name is Kelly Trueblood. I grew up in Vermont and went to college at Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire. I moved to North Carolina in 1999 and truely love living here!
This is my 6th year teaching at River Dell Elementary and my 12th year teaching. I am married and a mom of two children-Molly is in 6th grade and Tucker is in 9th grade.
I am looking forward to a great year!
We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
Carpool has been running so smoothly in the mornings. We want to remind parents that you should not drop off students at the top of the bus driveway to walk down to school. You can walk from your home or take them through carpool line. We appreciate your cooperation with this as we try to keep everyone safe. We want to thank everyone who attended Heritage Day on Saturday. We had an amazing turn out, and we can't wait to do it again next year.
We are really excited about our staff/parent basketball game for this Friday, March 11th. We will be playing against Thanksgiving Elementary at Archer Lodge Middle School. Our women's team of parents and teachers will be playing at 6pm. Our men's team will be playing at 7pm. Admission is one non-perishable food item for our Backpack Buddies program. This is such a great opportunity to help our families in need.
Report cards went home today. Please make sure to go over these with your children, then sign and return the envelopes. Tomorrow night is Spirit Night at Culver's on Hwy 70 in Clayton, near CVS and Bojangles. Come enjoy some delicious dinner at Culver's from 5:00-8:00, and a portion of the proceeds comes back to the students here at RDE.
Happy New Year Racers! We look forward to seeing all students back in the building tomorrow, Wednesday, January 5th, to begin our 3rd quarter. Please remember that masks are still required in all Johnston County Public Schools for all students, staff, and visitors.
