Mrs. Cheryl Brown
My name is Cheryl Brown and I am blessed to teach Fourth Grade ELA and Social Studies at River Dell. I obtained a BA degree in English Education from the University of South Carolina and an MA degree in Elementary Education from Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC. I have been teaching for 14 years and my experience includes secondary English as well as 1st - 5th grades. I am passionate about teaching, and I love working with parents and students to help them achieve success and foster a love for reading that will last for a lifetime. Reading grows well rounded individuals and builds the foundation for success in all subject areas. I believe that all students can and should enjoy learning, and I seek to provide rich, engaging experiences to guide them on their journey.
When I'm not teaching I enjoy spending time with family, serving in my church, singing, reading, and cuddling my crazy dog, Kramer.

We had a parent information night on Standards Based Teaching and Learning planned for September 20th. Due to the hurricane and its impact on our schedules, we have had to postpone that meeting. We now have the rescheduled date. We will have our parent night on Standards Based Teaching and Learning on Tuesday, October 16th from 6pm to 7pm in our cafeteria. We will also have our PTA share some very important information at the beginning of that meeting as well.
