Mrs. Beth Emerson

Hi!  I am a 4th grade teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning!  I love teaching math and science, and strive to make learning fun for my students.

I grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  I have 4 much older siblings, and over 30 nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. After graduating from High Point University in 2000,  I taught at Elon Elementary for 3 years.  When we moved to the area to be closer to family, I started teaching at River Dell, when our school opened in 2003.  I was a 3rd grade teacher for 14 years, and am now in my 4th year teaching 4th grade.

I have one daughter, Aubrey, who is a 6th grader at ALMS, and a stepson, Gabe, who is a 4th grader at Leesville.   I love to spend time with my family, and enjoy being at the beach and reading.

We hope that everyone had a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday with their families. We only have 15 days of school until our break in December and we want to encourage everyone to make these days count. There is a PTA meeting on Tuesday evening at 6:00 in the River Dell media center. We would like to encourage everyone to come out and hear about all of the great things that our PTA has been up to. Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much!

The weather is getting cooler, and we want to remind you to write your child's name inside of jackets, hats, gloves, etc. in case they end up in the lost and found. Also, please make sure names are written on student water bottles. We want to make sure that if items end up in the office we are able to return them quickly to their owners.
