Welcome to Powhatan Elementary School. My name is Wendy Thomas. This is my 19th year teaching Kindergarten in Johnston County. I graduated from Meredith College in 2000 with a degree in Early Childhood Development. (Go Angels!!) I am happily married to my high school sweet heart Dustin and have three awesome kids. Lee is a high school senior, Will is in 8th grade, and Skylar is in 4th grade. I love spending time with my family, taking care of my cows, and reading. I am looking forward to a moo-velous year helping your child grow and learn!

At this time, all traditional high school graduations are still planned for May 29. Graduation ceremonies for Johnston County Early College Academy and Johnston County Career and Technical Leadership Academy will now take place on May 16th, rather than the original date of May 15th.
The April Johnston County Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 7. The virtual meeting will begin at 4:00 p.m and will be conducted via Zoom To Comply With Social Distancing Orders. Members of the public make access the meeting via livestream.
