WELCOME TO MRS. MALLORY'S FIFTH GRADE CLASS
Just to introduce myself, I have taught fifth grade for the last fourteen years. As a lifelong learner, I graduated a few years ago with a Master's in Education from NC State. Before I discovered my love for teaching, I worked at IBM, and have a Master's in Business Administration from Temple University. My husband and I have two children: the oldest is a 2014 graduate from Carolina, and the youngest is a 2017 Carolina graduate as well. Both children are graduates of the North Carolina School of Math and Science and the youngest attended the NC Governor's School for Music. In addition, we have a rescue dog: a Chocolate Lab - Sassy. Our family has been a member of the Clayton community for over 20 years.
Thank you for sharing your children with me; They truly are a blessing! Feel free to contact me with good news about your child, events at home, concerns, and questions. There are various ways for us to communicate. Please check your email often as I will try to update with my plans for the coming week by Sunday evenings. You can send me an e-mail through this site, which I check at the end of each day. I can be reached at the school at 553-3259. My planning time is from 9:00 to 9:40 a.m. or I can be reached before or after school. I am usually in by 7:15 a.m. until the first bell for phone calls and will return emails at the end of the day (after the last bell). I look forward to hearing from you!
I look forward to working with your child and you for an awesome 5th-grade year!

For the past 15 years, Johnston County Public Schools has honored our local veterans with a special Veterans Day celebration program. The 2020 celebration will be held virtually on Wednesday, Nov. 11. The online program begins at 11 a.m., and a link to the program will be posted...
Information on social distancing in school settings has been recently updated by the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Upon receiving information from the NCDHHS, we consulted with the Johnston County Public Health Department on the impact these updates will have on our school system. This ongoing collaboration continues to guide our decision-making as students return to classrooms for in-person instruction.
As students in grades K-5 begin returning to school, the curbside locations for free meals will now be located at each middle and high school. The curbside meal locations at our elementary schools will end on Friday, Oct. 2 and will open at the middle and high schools on Monday, Oct. 5.
The Johnston County Board of Education approved a back to school plan at a special called session on Thursday, Sept. 25.
