Silent Partners Needed!
Would you be willing to help a Powhatan student in need? Powhatan Elementary School’s Silent Partner Program helps students whose families are experiencing financial hardship. The average donation request runs from $10 - $20, and you will only be asked to assist once this school year. The program will provide for a variety of needs for Powhatan Elementary children. Some examples from past years include:
- School supplies
- Field Trip cost
- Short term lunch money
- Family emergencies
We will compose a list of volunteers who are willing to help and as needs arise, we will contact you to see if you are able to assist at that time. As always, both the sponsor and the recipient are kept anonymous. The link to sign up is below. Thank you for your assistance.
Guidance will be provided this year for KI, 1st and 3rd Graders.
Social Emotional Learning is our target theme this year for the schoolwide Counseling Program. I look forward to visiting 2nd, 4th and 5th Graders in their classes as needed.
We are pleased to inform you that the preschool classroom at Powhatan Elementary School has limited space available for enrollment in the Fee For Service Program for the 19-20 school year. The Fee For Service Preschool Program is designed to provide a high-quality early childhood experience...
Attention parents of 4-year-olds: Are you interested in your child attending a free preschool program? The NC PreK program is designed to provide 4-year-old children with positive early learning experiences that support their development and prepare them for Kindergarten.
High school students and middle school students enrolled in high school courses will be given an option on how their grade appears on their transcript. Students should complete the form for their school to make their choice.
JCPS high schools will host “modified” traditional graduation ceremonies between Wednesday, July 29, 2020 - Saturday, August 1, 2020. Schools will communicate about specific graduation dates and ceremony times as we get closer to see what restrictions may limit our attendance participation.
