I have taught both Middle School ELA and Social Studies for 30 years as well as spending many summers in Johnston County's Summer Academy. This will be my 6th year at NJMS.  I will be teaching literacy-based Social Studies in the eighth grade for the fourth year.. My certification is in ELA, Social Studies, and AIG. My husband and I live in Clayton.  All 5 of our granddaughters live nearby and are the absolute joys of our lives!  I look forward to continuing relationships with many and creating new connections with others!  Please feel free to contact me by county email during the summer or call me at school in the fall (919-284-3374, ext. 3835) for questions, concerns, or suggestions!

  • Winter Band and Chorus Concerts

    Please mark your calendar for the upcoming Band and Chorus Winter Concerts in December! Join the NJMS Community as we enjoy the talent of our students at these events. The Chorus Concert will be held on Tuesday, December 6th, and the Band Concert will be held on Thursday, December 8th. Both concerts will begin at 6:30 pm in the NJMS gym.

  • NJMS Winter Toy Drive

    NJMS will be hosting a Winter Toy Drive during the home basketball game against Selma on Wednesday, December 14th. The girls' game starts at 4:15 PM. One new and unwrapped toy will provide one free admission for any guest.

  • JCPS to implement state-of-the-art security systems

    At the November Regular Session Board of Education meeting, the Board voted unanimously to improve safety and security in Johnston County Public Schools by implementing state-of-the-art security systems in each of the district’s schools.

  • Updated School Nutrition Information for 2022-23

    We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and  meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.

  • 2022 Growth Needs Update

    Johnston County Public Schools Chief of Facilities and Construction Brooks Moore presented the 2022 Growth Needs Update to the Johnston County Board of Education at their March meeting.
