Hi Class, I hope everyone is excited about this school year.This is my sixth year teaching. I am the Girls's Basketball Coach and Volleyball coach. Growing up, I attended Glendale-Kenly Elementary, North Johnston Middle, and North Johnston High School. After high school, I went to college at East Carolina University and graduated in December of 2013 with a B.S. in Physical Education (K-12).
Everyone stay safe during this required break. I miss all of my studetns very much!
Where are we?

Health and P.E. grades receive the same emphasis and value as grades in any other subject. Basis for grades are as follows (subjective and objective grading):
- a) Participation (exercising, playing, fitness test) 35%
- b) Dressing out 15%
- c) Tests 20%
- d) Classwork 10%
- e) Semester Project 20%

Academy of Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing to be held at NJHS next school year for rising 9th graders
In Fall of 2020, North Johnston HIgh School will start an Academy of Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing for Freshmen. Interested NJMS 8th Grade students and parents can follow link: www.johnston.k12.nc.us/domain/9741 to learn more about academy and apply. Acceptance into academy is for freshmen only in NJHS attendance area. Application window has opened and will close April 15.
The 8th Grade Dance will be held on Friday, March 20th from 6:00-9:00 PM in the cafetorium. More details will be provided to 8th grade students on Wednesday, January 29th during JAG time at a grade level meeting with administration and 8th grade teachers. A letter will be sent home with all students on Wednesday, January 29th. A parent meeting will be held for all families who are interested in assisting with the dance on Tuesday, February 4th in the media center at 6:00 pm.
NC Check-Ins are interim assessments developed by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) that are aligned to North Carolina grade-level content standards (for reading and mathematics) and North Carolina Essential Standards (for Science). More information is available inside.
