Mrs. Sonya Kiser

Mrs. Kiser teaches students English. The 2022-23 school year will complete her twenty-seventh year at NJHS of twenty-nine years of teaching in Johnston County Schools. Mrs. Kiser graduated from South Johnston High School, but enjoys her time here on "the other side of the Neuse"! She is UNCG Spartan; a Wake Forest Demon Deacon; an NC State mom to one NCSU graduate and one who's a Senior in the Pack; a Neuse Charter School wife; and is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher. GO PANTHERS and welcome to Kiser's Chaos!

JCPS Announcements

  • ACCESS testing for English Language Learners

    North Carolina schools are required to administer ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 to all students identified as English Learners (ELs) in the spring of each year to determine their progress in learning English. Each student is tested in four areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This assessment helps us monitor their English language development.

    The Johnston County Board of Education is now accepting applications for the Johnston County Community College Board of Trustee position. The deadline to apply for the vacancy is Friday, February 17, 2023.

  • Updated School Nutrition Information for 2022-23

    We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and  meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
