Mrs. Kristy Wheeler
I am a 2005 graduate of North Johnston High School, a 2008 graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Horticultural Sciences, and a 2012 graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Master's in Agricultural Education.
My husband and I have been married since 2012 and have one son, Clifton.
I began teaching at NJHS in August of 2009. I offer various courses including - Agriscience Applications, Animal Science I, Animal Science II, Animal Science II-small animals, and Biotechnology and Agriscience Research. Animal Science II and Small Animals, as well as biotechnology are all offered as honors courses as well.
I am also one of the three FFA advisors here at NJHS. We have roughly 180-200 members each year. I love teaching the importance of agriculture to our students. North Carolina has a diverse agricultural field and it's important that all of our students understand why agriculture is a necessary field. Through the FFA I have had the chance to see many young people mature into outstanding young adults.
