Mrs. Kristy Wheeler
I am a 2005 graduate of North Johnston High School, a 2008 graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Horticultural Sciences, and a 2012 graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Master's in Agricultural Education.
My husband and I have been married since 2012 and have two sons, Clifton and Stephen.
I began teaching at NJHS in August of 2009. I offer various courses including - Agriscience Applications, Animal Science I, Animal Science II, Animal Science II-Companion Animals, Sustainable Agriculture Production, and Biotechnology and Agriscience Research.
I am also one of the three FFA advisors here at NJHS. We have roughly 120-170 members each year. I love teaching the importance of agriculture to our students. North Carolina has a diverse agricultural field and it's important that all of our students understand why agriculture is a necessary field. Through the FFA I have had the chance to see many young people mature into outstanding young adults.

At the November Regular Session Board of Education meeting, the Board voted unanimously to improve safety and security in Johnston County Public Schools by implementing state-of-the-art security systems in each of the district’s schools.
We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
