My name is Jackie Hudson, and I am excited about being your child's teacher this year. I have been teaching 1st grade for 22 years - 19 of those years have been here at Meadow School. I am a graduate of UNCW - Go Seahawks! I have been married for 22 years and have 2 daughters - Makenzi who is in 11th grade and Madison who is in 8th grade.

First Grade Supply List
*2 packs of #2 pencils (12 pack)
*erasers (long, flat pink ones work best)
*1 3 subject spiral bound notebook
*4 1 subject spiral bound notebooks
*2 Boxes of 24 or less Crayola crayons
*8 large glue sticks
*1 pair of scissors with stainless steel blades
*Pencil box
*2 large boxes of tissues
*2 packs of dry erase markers with eraser on cap (These can be found at Wal Mart)
*1 pair of headphones (headphones work better than earbuds)
*Change of clothes (This is a must!) Please put clothes in Ziploc bag with your child’s name on the bag.
Please put all of your child’s supplies in a large Ziploc bag with your child’s name on the bag.

Hotspot and Chromebook Safety
Hot spot and Chromebook safety: These devices should be located on a hard, flat surface to prevent overheating. Turn them off and on(reboot) each day or two.

Curbside Lunches Are Available
Free lunches and breakfasts are available 11:00-1:00, Monday-Friday for all school age students. Please pull up to the cafeteria in the bus lot and remain in your vehicle.

JCPS transitions to Plan B for all students
The Johnston County Board of Education voted to return all Pre-K and EC-Self Contained students to Plan B, four days per week, beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 19. These students will participate in face-to-face instruction on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Wednesday serving as a remote learning day. All other students in grades K-12 will remain on Plan C until Monday, Feb. 1.

JCPS to Return to Plan C
Due to Johnston County being designated a โredโ county by the NCDHHS, as well as increased quarantines and COVID cases in the school district as reflected on our dashboard, the Johnston County Board of Education voted to have ALL students, including Pre-K and EC self contained, return to remote learning under Plan C, beginning Monday, December 14 through Friday, January 15. Unless the remote learning period is extended beyond January 15th, students will return to the plan that they chose on the Second Semester Choice form on Tuesday, January 19.

High School State Assessments Update
On December 8th 2020, the Johnston County School Board of Education voted to return to Plan C (Remote Learning), we would like to provide an update to parents and guardians of options to complete state-mandated End-of-Course (EOC) and Career/Technical Education Post Assessment testing.
