 Fabulous First Grade!

My name is Mrs. Todd and I am excited for another year in First Grade!! This year may be very unusual and challenging for us all. We will work together to make this the best first grade year possible!!

This year is going to be an amazing adventure while we have fun learning and growing together. I am thrilled to be your teacher!! You won’t believe how much FUN we will have along the way.

I think it is very important for us to work together as a family. We will be spending a lot of time together this year and will treat each other with respect, kindness and compassion. I know that each of you  thinks and learn differently. It is my job as a teacher to help you grow as a learner.

I am excited to learn all about you, but  first I will tell a little about myself. I have lived in North Carolina for 24  years. I have taught kindergarten and first grade here at McGee’s. I am married and have  two amazing children. My daughter  is 15 and is in high school. My son is 12 and going into middle school. We have two crazy dogs. I will be telling you lots of funny stories about my kids and dogs this year.

Here are a few of my favorite things:

Color: Teal & Brown

Place: Outdoors

Hobby: Reading

Food: Italian (lasagna,pizza, pasta)

Drink: Coffee

Author: Jan Brett, Karen Kingsbury

We will be developing a GROWTH MINDSET this year. **Please think of three things you CAN do and one thing you can not do YET.

  • ACCESS testing for English Language Learners

North Carolina schools are required to administer ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 to all students identified as English Learners (ELs) in the spring of each year to determine their progress in learning English. Each student is tested in four areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This assessment helps us monitor their English language development.
