Mrs. Marie Norris

Welcome to Kindergarten!!!

Hi! My name is Mrs. Marie Norris and I am one of our schools' amazing kindergarten teachers!

I started my journey in education in January 2005.  I have worked at McGee’s Crossroads Elementary as a teaching assistant, computer lab specialist, bus driver, third grade reading tutor/teacher, and my favorite, Kindergarten teacher. This will be my seventh year teaching Kindergarten. I studied Elementary Education at Barton College all while working a full-time job and being a newlywed. I grew up in the small town of Four Oaks and now live in the Cleveland Community with my husband Jason, of 10 years (17 years together), 5 year old daughter Penelope (who is also starting Kindergarten this year), our dog Jazmine, along with Tweety the bird and Scooter the turtle.  As a family, we love to spend time at our family lake home and go skiing, surfing, wakeboarding and riding jet skis. We also love to go pier fishing at the beach, and visit Disney when we can. I love to have as much family time as possible!

I also have the most amazing teaching assistant ever!! Her name is Mrs. Alexis McBryde. She is my right-hand lady and is such an asset to our classroom. We both look forward to meeting our future Kindergarten students and cannot wait to teach you everything we know! I hope to meet you on Thursday, August 25, 2022 from 5-7 at our open house. Please email me if you have any questions about your scheduled meeting time or if you have not received your letter in the mail, at marienorris@johnston.k12.nc.us I cannot wait to meet you face to face very soon!

Educationally Yours,

Mrs. M. Norris
