About Me:

I grew up here in Johnston County.  I attended Benson Elementary School for K-8 then South Johnston High School.  I attended the University Of North Carolina in Wilmington for my teaching degree.  I received my National Board Certification in 2012.  I'm married and have two wonderful daughters.  I've been at McGee's since the school opened in 1998 (my first year of teaching).  I completed my student teaching in Sampson County in grade K, and I have taught 4th, 5th, and 2nd grades here at McGee's.  I taught 2nd grade here for 12 years.  I am very excited about being back in 5th grade for the 2021-2022 school year to teach English Language Arts and Social Studies!

  • ACCESS testing for English Language Learners

North Carolina schools are required to administer ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 to all students identified as English Learners (ELs) in the spring of each year to determine their progress in learning English. Each student is tested in four areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This assessment helps us monitor their English language development.
