Mrs. Carolyn Brown

Welcome!  I am honored to be a 4th Grade Science, Social Studies, and Writing Teacher at MCES. I will be team teaching with Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Buchanan.  McGee's holds a special place in my heart, as it is the school that my two daughters attended.  I have been involved with McGee's since the second year it was opened.  I've been a parent volunteer, PTA Board Member, Usborne book fair hostess, substitute teacher and in 2013 I joined the staff.  I've spent two years teaching 3rd grade and the rest of my time teaching 4th.  2022/2023 will be my eleventh year teaching!

My undergraduate education was at UNC Wilmington, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Work.  After college I became a Crisis Intervention Counselor and remained at that job until I had my first child.  I stayed home with her, had another daughter, and did various jobs from home. I took a career path change in 2011 when I graduated from Meredith College with my Masters in the Arts of Teaching degree.  It was time to put my love of educating children to work.

My husband and I have lived in the McGee's Crossroads area for over 20 years.  We love this community and are quite involved with our church.  I welcome you to our classroom community and look forward to making many happy memories together!
