Mrs. Amanda Carroll
I'm Amanda Carroll. I am orginally from the Boston area and moved to Clayton, NC when I was 7 years old. I graduated from Clayton High School. After high school, I attended East Carolina University where I earned my education degree with a concentration in history. I've been teaching at McGee's since 2005. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. My son is in middle school and I have a toddler at home who keeps me on my toes. My family also includes our dog Gronk and our newest member Katniss. She is a stray cat that appeared at our house in June. We have taken her in a love her. I am a big football fan rooting for my favorite team the New England Patriots and I love reading books. I also enjoy watching movies and shows on Netflix with my family on the weekend. We enjoy trips to Walt Disney World. I enjoy teaching and hope my love for learning is evident to my students.
As we anticipate a return to a normal school year in 2021-2022, with our students participating in face-to-face instruction five days a week, we are offering an exciting new opportunity for families. In the fall of 2021 we will open a new school, the JCPS Virtual Academy, for any student interested in grades K-12.
While face masks are still required in all of our indoor facilities, students, staff, and guests of our campuses are no longer required to wear a face covering when outdoors. Students and staff may continue to wear masks when participating in recess or outdoor activities if they choose to do so.
