Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year at Cleveland High School.  I hope you are ready for an adventurous semester in Social Studies in my classroom.  I have taught World History, United States/American History, Civics and Economics, AP Psychology, Sociology, and Lessons in Vietnam over the many years as a teacher in the North Carolina Public School System. 

I am a graduate of North Carolina Public School System and from Washington County, NC.  I earned my B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where my son is currently a student.  I also, completed my M.A. in Special Education and I’ve taught in the Wake and Johnston County Public School Systems. 

With my husband and two children I have called Johnston County my home for more than 18 years.  I have a 19 year old son and 14 year old daughter.

  • Graduation Ceremony Information

    At this time, all traditional high school graduations are still planned for May 29. Graduation ceremonies for Johnston County Early College Academy and Johnston County Career and Technical Leadership Academy will now take place on May 16th, rather than the original date of May 15th.

  • Board of Education Meeting set for April 7

    The April Johnston County Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 7. The meeting will begin at 4:00 p.m. and be held in the Evander Simpson Building in Smithfield.
